"I am a Forensic Video Specialist with a local police department in North Carolina As part of my duties, I assist with all custodial interviews for our department. As recently as four years ago, our department was using a VHS-recording system. Well, we've advanced through three different systems since then. The first was a computer-based interview room which required codec's, a special player and a lot of troubled software. After much frustration, we made the decision to abandon this costly technology ($100,000) and installed a more practical DVR box system. We have experienced different issues with this (I guess "cheap" isn't always best). We are currently using a system designed and built by StarWitness." |
